Amanda Tenorio is currently an Intimate Partner Violence Specialist with the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and a Battering Intervention Program Facilitator with the HEAL Program. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology and her Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She has worked in the domestic violence field for the past 12 years after fleeing her abuser, who is now serving a 55-year sentence. Amanda has experienced homelessness because of domestic violence and is very familiar with the many systems that victims are forced to interact with. During her advocacy career, Amanda has worked for the military, in the court system, and with various non-profit organizations. She currently sits on the MD Domestic Violence Fatality Review State Implementation Team. Amanda's story has been published in various sources, including The Washington Post and USA Today. Amanda enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling, reading, listening to podcasts, and Zumba.
